FAQs

What is Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust?

Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust (MSLT) manages an extensive portfolio of sport and leisure facilities throughout Manchester. These facilities range from swimming pools and community leisure centres to the world class Commonwealth Games 2002 legacy facilities. We are a registered charity and a non-profit distributing organisation, so any profit made is reinvested back into the business for the continual benefit of the local community.

Are you part of Manchester City Council?

No, we are a separate organisation, but we do work in partnership with the Council and receive funding from them to help run the facilities and activities.

How do I book an activity or class?

You can book and pay at each of our centres, or phone to book. Some of our facilities do have on-line booking arrangements accessed through this website, but we would recommend you phone your chosen centre first to determine what booking and paying facilities they have. We plan to have an on-line booking service for most centres within the next 12 months. This website shows contact details, opening times and activities offered for all of our centres.

Where is Manchester Sport and Leisure Trust's main office?

The Trust's main office is at Manchester National Squash Centre, Sportcity, although we do have staff based at all of our centres.

Who are Serco?

Serco Leisure Manchester are our managing agents who operate the MAC and 10 of our Community Leisure Centres for us.

Are all of the Trust's facilities open to the public?

Yes, all of our facilities are open to the public including all of the world-class facilities at Sportcity.

Do I have to become a member or join to use the facilities?

No, you can pay as you play at each visit. If you would like to sign up for membership of the fitness suites/gyms then we also offer some very competitive monthly rates. Further information is shown in the Where Can I Go? section of this website.
