Manchester Regional Arena
The arena, located at Sportcity (Gate 13), was developed from the original 2002 Commonwealth Games warm up track and boasts both indoor and outdoor athletics facilities.
Originally the warm-up track for the Games, the outdoor track consists of an 8 lane, 400m track with the capability of hosting all field events - long jump, javelin, discus and shot, a regular host venue for the annual AAA National Championships - with covered, tiered seating for 6,500 spectators.
The indoor athletics hall includes a four lane, 200m running track and a six lane, 60m sprint track, an indoor jumping pit plus specially designed nets for throw events like, javelin, discus & shot.
The central area of the track is also marked out for various sports such as, badminton, basketball and netball, and used extensively by the local community during school holidays, which you can book exclusively or by individual facility.
The arena is also home to all Manchester City FC reserve games, various local athletics clubs and the national HQ for UK and England Athletics - offering an established athletics progamme. So, whether you want to run, hop, skip or jump - everyone is welcome at the arena, from complete novices to elite athletes.
